The final countdown

Only 41 days left. Time is passing quickly, and while we've got everything Blake could ask for, we still don't feel prepared!

Only a few things left to do before D-Day. New mirrors need to go up (in place of the ones I broke!). The car seat needs to be installed. I'm still without a diaper bag, I'm just to picky. And the hospital bag is only partially packed.

With Christmas coming it has been hard to focus on everything all at once, so after next weekend, it is crunch time.

I'm looking forward to having the Grandma's here and my friend Savannah (from Virginia) coming out to lend a hand and visit after Blake is born. I think I'd be panicking more if it weren't for that.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Hopefully our next update will be the arrival of little Blake Allen.

It is official!

Derek Proposed! Back on November 12th he popped the question! We have plans to get married in November 2011 in Jamaica or somewhere in that area.

Blake's room Progress

His homemade name hangy things. By homemade, I mean I painted them and added the ribbon...I didn't actually cut out the letters :)
Hand Painted Shelves and abstract painting
The things in the corner are lanterns
His awesome night light that broke :( Ordering a new one.
Dirty Mirrors....the lion fell while I was cleaning them, and broke....taking the night light down with it. A new one is on the way.
His name painting I did, and coat rack (the coat rack and elephants were all hand painted, and assembled!)

We went in today for a normal check up, Blake's heart rate was 140, perfect! Everything is measuring exactly as it should. We go back in four weeks for the next check up. 24 weeks on Saturday! Only 16 weeks left.

Blake's Bed is complete!

Just needs a changing table cover!

Thanks Grandma Misty and Grandpa Robert for his new comfy organic mattress!

Attack of the airport animals

Blake's new stuffed Giraffe and Elephant. Saw them at the airport and couldn't leave them there.

Baby Movement!

At 22 weeks I felt the baby move with my hand, and yesterday, at 23 weeks I saw my stomach moving. Blake's getting strong in there! He still doesn't want to let Derek feel though, he stops moving when anything touches my stomach.

Blake's Room (Unfinished)

This is Blake's room so far. Lots of work to do still. We are waiting on stuff in the mail to finish. We wont be painting because we don't plan on staying in this house long enough to make it worth while. As you can see the colors are blue, green and some brown.

Doors to his room, I love them!

Changing table, lamp and unfinished shelves on the changing table

Crib and changing table. Just ordered his bedding today!

His creative version of a dresser/shelves

Big view of his room. The Pack n play wont be in there

Animals to hang somewhere, undecided on where

Giving us a thumbs up!

A first for everything

I've never been a huge fan of blogging, but I've found that when you decide to have kids, you start doing all sorts of weird things that your previous self wouldn't do. For example, scrapbooking and learning how to cook. So while I'm in the process of becoming domesticated, I figured I might as well add blogging to the list. Thanks in part to my friend Shana, who is always posting the best pictures of her boys on her blog. I think it'll be nice to have a compilation of family photos, and updates all in one place for those interested.  Hopefully I will stop annoying all my facebook friends with the constant reminder that I'm pregnant. I realize not everyone loves ultrasound pictures as much as grandmas do :)
